Dusty rose knitted romper

I just love handmade. This perfect knitted romper by Lisell Iversen, a sweet talented girl I met over at instagram, is handknitted just for Em, from her measurements, one of a kind and so beautiful. So soft from natural merino wool and the color is a very subtle dusty rose, that goes with anything, or just as the romper itself, as on these photos I snapped of Em. The wooden lacing toy is from my other venture of sustainable toys and interior pieces over at Hilja. Worth a visit if you like slow living and a simple lifestyle with fewer, better things. Did I just mention I love handmade?! Have a lovely sunny weekend y’all! xo / Elise + Em

Cotton Muslin Love

To find a fabric softer than double cotton muslin must be totally impossible. This Easter holiday when I had a few days off, I made Em a pixie bonnet and two straight cut dresses in soft tones, lavender and a dusty light blue one, perfect for spring and summer. (You find more pics of these, plus some Easter decs, on Villa Backö.) This muslin fabric, also called cotton crepe or double gauze, is both lightweight and breathable. The feel against the skin is so soft and I definitely have to make a summer top or dress in it for myself as well. Em literally wants to live in it, I guess that’s kinda highest rating! 😉 Happy Friday! xo Elise & Em

I’m a cool girl

I’m a cool girl, I’m a, I’m a cool girl,
Ice cold, I roll my eyes at you, boy
[…] Now you can’t tell if I’m really ironic…

Cool or cute, salty or sweet, all mixed up when being a soon to be fournager, hey? You’re feeling’ me if you have kids this age.

What she’s totally obsessed with these days is her doll’s house (my old one, and even my mom’s old, pretty cool hey?!) and her Sony Angels living in it. I did some crafting, repainting, decorating and with it’s black and white colors there are a few masterpieces from back in the 50’s, love it!

Recently, Em received a lovely package from Kido Design Studio, with this stunning rainbow cloud custom made with her name on it, and this is an amazing interior piece as well as an eductive one! (Thank you Keren, we love it!) I love rainbow pastel interior colors for Em’s room, and this goes so well with all her decoration pieces. And let’s talk about custom made products, I mean how good is that?! Perfect for gifts too, maybe christening gifts, or for birthdays. I hope she learn to say what time it is soon too, we practice every morning! 🙂 so she can let me know if we are late for kindy 😉

And if you’d like to know about the outfit, these cool girl’s corduroy suspender pants, well, Em is such a cool cat in those, and yup, even these ones are thrifted treasures from when I was a little girl, the quality of clothing from decades ago are a tad better than many of the kids fashion retailers and chains of today, so to say. I tend to look for more and more handmade clothing for the kids nowadays, I love knitted garments from natural fibers such as organic cotton, wool, silk, linen. It’s more a way of living simple with kids to be honest, and it’s a process, which has to take time. You cannot change their whole closets in one day, at least not me, neither economically nor practically. But I’ll allow it to take it’s time.

Holiday remnants

There still are a few remnants of the holidays, such as the eucalyptus wreath and unblogged photos of Em in her New Year’s Eve outfit. Love this dress from Studio H&M Collection, it’s a dream! Such a cupcake dress, Em truly believes she’s a princess in this dress (yes of course she is I know hey!) and constantly kept taking about her being Cinderella going to the ball meeting the prince 🙂 And lets take moment taking wreaths as well, even though this is not the interior blog of mine (no it’s [HERE] and as you might know it’s called Villa Backo after our house)and especially this holidays half made wreaths which we saw like everywhere on Pinterest and Insta. I love the unfinished, half finished style, the imperfectly perfect look, all of it. Nature isn’t perfect, it’s unique, one of a kind. So should wreaths. That’s why I felt like this was the trend I’ve been sought for, for like ever. Went to buy a wooden embroidery hoop at my local craft shop, the base for the wreath. The metal stuff is easily hidden when attaching the greenery and plantae. The smell of the eucalyptus is magical, even a few weeks after NYE it still smells lovely when you pass it by. Ok, that was bit off topic but who cares hey 🙂 All details below the pics, as always. x
